Alexander Technique
THE GREAT UPLIFT
Enhancing Posture, Mobility, Performance
with Helen Cameron

The ALEXANDER
TECHNIQUE
Developed by F. M. Alexander in the late 19th century, the Alexander Technique focuses on the practical application of principles that help individuals recognize and overcome habitual patterns of tension and misuse in their bodies.
At its core, the Alexander Technique teaches you how to use your body more efficiently and mindfully. By bringing awareness to how you sit, stand, walk and the many other ways you move in general, you learn to release unnecessary tension and allow your body to function with greater ease and coordination. This improved use of the body not only enhances physical performance but also contributes to mental clarity and emotional balance.

F.M. ALEXANDER
Frederick Matthias Alexander,
an Australian born in 1869,
revolutionised our understanding
of human movement and
wellness with his groundbreaking
Alexander Technique. His journey
from an accomplished actor to a world-renowned figure is a story of tenacity and innovation.
At the age of 35 Alexander moved to London on the advice of a respiratory specialist who recognised the broader implications of his work. Alexander's Technique was recognized and endorsed by famous doctors and authors, anatomists, education reformers, philosophers, and two Nobel Prize winners for Physiology or Medicine.
They and many others helped spread the international popularity of Alexander’s innovative and life changing technique.
